AWS B2B Data Interchange New Feature Launch Announcement

AWS B2B Data Interchange now enables fully automated, event-driven Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) workflows by publishing events to Amazon EventBridge for all successful and failed transformations. These events can be used to trigger downstream data integration processes, to automate additional processing of your transformed EDI documents, or to automatically send real-time status notifications to you and your trading partners.

With B2B Data Interchange transformation events in EventBridge, you can create Amazon EventBridge rules that match these events and trigger over 25 different AWS operations from services like AWS Glue, AWS Lambda, and AWS Step Functions. For example, you can create an Amazon EventBridge rule that triggers an extract, transform, and load (ETL) job with AWS Glue to automatically hydrate your purpose-built data lakes anytime an X12 EDI document is successfully transformed into JSON or XML using AWS B2B Data Interchange. You can also create a rule that sends automated SNS email notifications anytime validation or parsing of an EDI document fails. These events can be used alongside AWS Transfer Family’s AS2, SFTP, FTPS, and FTP events to fully automate your EDI pipelines at cloud-scale.

AWS B2B Data Interchange support for publishing events in Amazon EventBridge is available in all AWS Regions where the service is available. To learn more about building and running your EDI workflows with AWS B2B Data Interchange, visit the documentation or take the self-paced workshop.
