AWS Console multi session support

New feature released by AWS for multi session console support

You no longer have to use congnito mode, multiple browsers or machines to log into more than one AWS account.

In the past you'd log into an AWS console and open up multiple tabs to access different services. As and when you needed to log into another account, all tabs would follow suit and ask you to "Sign In Again"

Now you can sign in to up to five different identities simultaneously in a single web browser in the AWS Management Console. You must opt-in to multi-session support by choosing Turn on multi-session in the account menu in the AWS Management Console

It's still being rolled out, and not yet available for all accounts. Therefore on the account drop down in the top right hand corner of your browser, look out for the following button

How do you set the name that appears with the account name on the "Choose your AWS session" page? I don't have all my account numbers memorized, so it's difficult to navigate the list quickly.

Where can I report a bug in the multi-session support mechanism? I do not have a support plan.

When multi-session support is enabled, I cannot manage my AWS Marketplace subscriptions. Basically, when I click on "Manage" or "Setup" on one of my subscriptions, the URL it takes me to drops the mulei-session sub-domain on the URL. Adding the sub-domain manually does not address the problem.

I've been really happy with the multi-session support, but I had to turn it off to manage my subscriptions.

There is another bug where unable to have displayed Monitoring metric for DMS, where as normal SSO login works fine.

How can you report these bugs via Support as there doesn't appear to an option for Console under Support!

When multi-session support is enabled, accessing EC2 instances using EC2 Instance Connect Endpoint is not supported and shows "WebsocketUpgradeFailure" in CloudTrail OpenTunnel event.

I encountered a bug when trying to click on my Lex v2 bot to go to the bot detail page after enabling "multi-session support", the error said something like "accountId must be specified:"

Hi Justin Hendrickson, you can use the IAM console to update the account alias to set the name that appears with the account name for multi-session to your preferred AWS account name. https://docs.aws.amazon.com/IAM/latest/UserGuide/account-alias-create.html
