A successful Amazon WorkSpaces deployment that delivers the highest possible ROI and adoption of the Amazon WorkSpaces for your organization, requires a solid change management plan that helps drive user adoption, usage, and proficiency with Amazon WorkSpaces.

Timeline for Change Management activities

There are many different approaches to change management, what’s best depends on your company’s size, culture, industry, and more. But with large scale Amazon WorkSpaces deployment, we’ve seen successful deployment have these common traits for change management. In this document, you’ll find our suggested timeline for key change management activities for your organization WorkSpaces production (100-250 users) deployment, as well as tips for assessing change impacts and developing your communications and training plans.

The following suggested timeline for a pilot deployment roll out plan for approximately (100-250 users). Enter image description here

It is strongly recommended that you plan how long the T- process should run, what criteria needs to be met before an asset can enter the process, the process steps and when they happen. The T-minus timeline should include every aspect of the migration preparation, scheduling and deployment, and be documented in a format that should enable you to identify which tasks can be automated further down the line. The clearer that you can define your schedule of activities, the greater your chance of running a successful end to end migration process.

This can easily be scaled out to include a larger rollout by separating users into groups of 100-250 users. For example, you can split the groups into deployment waves and stagger the change management activities: Enter image description here
