Amazon GameLift launches improvements to the C++ Server SDK websocket connection stability and adds logging capabilities for game servers developed on Unreal Engine.
Hello Amazon GameLift Community,
We are excited to announce that Amazon GameLift has released a new version of its C++ Server SDK as well as the Unreal Engine plugin for Amazon GameLift. The updates to the Server SDK improves reliability of the server SDK V5, to communicate between the hosted game server and Amazon GameLift service using a more robust re-connection mechanism. This will help to recover or re-establish the connection in the event of a network interruptions or random message drops. In addition, this release also brings an update to the current logging capabilities to now include a logging library compatible with Unreal Engine. You will now be able to access Server SDK logs for Unreal Engine game server projects.
If you are using the Amazon GameLift C++ Server SDK or the Unreal Engine Plugin for Amazon GameLift, we recommend that you download the latest version of the SDK (V5.1.3) or the plugin (V1.1.2) and integrate it with your C++ or Unreal Engine game server project.
Please find below the most recent (recommended) versions of the C++ Server SDK and Unreal Engine plugins
