Launch of new payment method for AWS IN customers

What's launched?

AWS India customers can now make payments for Invoices from Amazon Web Services India Private Limited through Unified Payments Interface payment method. Today customers in India can pay their AWS invoices using credit card, debit cards or netbanking. With this launch customers can also use UPI, a popular and convenient payment method in India

What is UPI?

UPI is a popular and convenient payment method in India, which facilitates instant bank to bank transfers between two parties through mobile phones with internet.

How to make payments via UPI?

  1. Customers can log-in to the AWS console, and use UPI on the Payments page through the Billing Dashboard.

  1. They can then pay for an invoice by selecting UPI from “Add Payment Method” drop-down.

Unified Payments Interface Payment Method Option

  1. Customers will be required to provide their UPI ID, verify it and proceed to make payments. After confirming their billing address, customers will receive a UPI collect payment request in the UPI Application (for e.g: Amazon Pay, PhonePe, GPay).

  1. Customers can complete the payment inside their UPI app by approving the transaction with their UPI PIN. Once payment is successful, the AWS invoice will be marked as paid in the AWS console.
