Modifying an EBS volume requires two steps. First, increase the size of the EBS volume using the [Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) console](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/WindowsGuide/requesting-ebs-volume-modifications.html#console-modify-size) or the [AWS Command Line Interface (AWS CLI)](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/WindowsGuide/requesting-ebs-volume-modifications.html#aws-cli). Then, extend the volume’s file system to use the new storage capacity. For instructions, see:
