RDS Proxy needed for Aurora Global Serverless v2?

I am using a cross-region global Aurora Serverless v2 cluster for my PostgreSQL database.

Now it could be, that there are multiple connections from multiple services to it.

My question is now, whether we do need an RDS Proxy for this kind of cluster or whether this is not necessary here?

Given recent announcement (https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonRDS/latest/AuroraUserGuide/data-api.html) you could leverage data api for Aurora serverless v2 without need to use rds proxy

    Many thanks for your input. That sounds very helpful. Currently, my Python backend uses async calls to the database. Hence, it would look like something

    from sqlalchemy.ext.asyncio import create_async_engine

engine = create_async_engine("postgresql+asyncpg://user:password@host/db?ssl=require", echo=False, future=True)

    Can I use the same setup for the data API or would I have to do it differently?
