Granting Write Permissions on AWS EC2 Instance

Hello,

when I connect with FileZilla to EC2 and when I try to edit and save a file, I get this error:

templates/user_memebership_profile.php: open for write: permission denied
Error: File transfer failed

What do I need to do to be able to edit and save files with FileZilla (or if you know a more convenient tool)?

chown 33:33 yourfolder -R chmod 755 yourfolder -R try updating the permissions to the directories and lets see if you have still errors

Thanks for your reply. I am not an infra expert. Could you please guide me through the process. Which user I need to use, can I execute the commands in FileZilla...? Thank you!
