Appstream instance storage limit

Question

Per [documentation](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/appstream2/latest/developerguide/instance-types.html), Appstream instances have one 200 GB fixed size volume (non-persistent). For my usecase, I need the user to have access to more than 200 GB of files (graphics / images). What is the recommended way of providing more than 200 GB storage to Appstream (Windows) users?

Answer

There are AWS services such as [Amazon FSx for Windows](https://aws.amazon.com/fsx/windows/) or [Amazon FSX for NetApp ONTAP](https://aws.amazon.com/fsx/netapp-ontap/) that can provide storage for AppStream instances.  These can be mounted using NFS either by group policy or UNC.
