'aws events list-targets-by-rule' response incomplete

Hi Forum Members,

There is an issue with the 'aws events list-targets-by-rule' response, as per below.

Prerequisites:

  1. Have a VPC set up with private subnets.
  2. Have an ECS task set up which uses the compatibility FARGATE.
  3. Have a CloudWatch event rule set up with a cron running daily, named let's say 'test-rule'.
  4. Have a CloudWatch event target set up for the rule that points to the ECS task set up in step 2. The target should use a private subnet to start the ECS task in, and should use the launch type FARGATE.

Reproduction steps:

  1. Run the command
aws events list-targets-by-rule --rule "test-rule"
  1. Observe that the response/output doesn't contain either the network configuration details or the launch type, while according to the documentation it should: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/cli/latest/reference/events/list-targets-by-rule.html

Does anyone happen to know if this is a bug, or am I just overlooking something?

Thank you in advance for your input.

For anyone who runs into the same issue: update your AWS CLI to the latest version.
