re open permanently blocked old AWS account

0

I had an old amazon AWS cloud account with my earlier employer in 2012/13.

This used same email id - my current email - to work on it/use it for my older company M/s Fauna technologies pte. I did not have any o/s bills/ resources in that account. This was closed - and another opened for my personal usage of free tier. This was also closed when no longer needed.

Now to refresh new technologies on AWS I need to reuse my email sudheer.godgeri@gmail.com - to access and work on AWS cloud objects - using paid as well as always free resources. But not able to . please guide me.

You can use the “+” style email addresses to create additional AWS accounts. For more details refer to [1].

If the email system support the use of “+” style email addresses e.g. gmail.com and outlook.com, in which multiple email addresses are aliased to the same email account or distribution list. If this is the case, then you might find it beneficial to use this feature to to create additional AWS accounts.

For example, the addresses: yourname+project1@example.com and yourname+project2@example.com

will be treated as unique addresses in AWS, but with the use of plus addressing, your mail system would deliver messages for both of these addresses to the same yourname@example.com email account or distribution list.

I need to reuse my email xxxxxxx.yyyyyyy@gmail.com

Please obfuscate your email address in your question, for your own protection more than anything else.

Strictly speaking, what you're wanting to do can't be done, see https://repost.aws/knowledge-center/reopen-aws-account

  • After 90 days, you can't reopen your closed account or open a new AWS account with the email address associated with your closed AWS account.

@ronald_l's suggestion of using the gmail trick of a '+' in the address is the best that you're going to be able to do.
