It's been a couple of years since I last had to do this, but once an Amazon Workspace as been created for you, you'll receive an email from "Amazon Workspaces" with a list of three items.
Item one will say "Complete your user profile and download a WorkSpaces client using the following link:" and you need to click the link to set your password, as well as get the client software (which it sounds like you've already done).
Item two will provide a registration code about a dozen characters long, which is unique to this account.
Item three will confirm your login name for the Workspace.
In the AWS Console do you see any workspaces here which have your name and email address against them? https://console.aws.amazon.com/workspaces/v2/workspaces
(be sure you're in the right region)
It sounds like you may have created an EC2 instance vs. an Amazon WorkSpace. When you log into the Amazon WorkSpaces Management console, do you see an active workspace? If so, you can click the WorkSpace ID and see the registration code. If you do not see any WorkSpaces, try navigating to the EC2 console to see if there is a running instance?
Hi rhyswolfie,
- In your browser, go to the AWS Console
- Ensure that you are in the appropriate region
- Type "workspaces" in the search at the top and select WorkSpaces
- Select the WorkSpace ID of the WorkSpace that you would like to know the registration code of
- The Registration Code will be listed under the Summary at the top
I hope this helps!
