Charging within the free level

0

I created the aws account to try to learn how to use the resources and use the tools to upload a project, at first everything was informed that it was free, but now on my invoice screen I am receiving a cost of 12 dollars and expected to 20 dollars by the end of the month, I would like to know if this is an estimate or they really want to charge me. I was careful and only used features included in the free tier, I see no reason why I should be charged.

To see your Free Tier utilization take a look at this page:

https://us-east-1.console.aws.amazon.com/billing/home?region=us-east-1#/freetier

Just make sure you are in the correct region as this URL leads to US-EAST-1.

Hello,

Review free tier usage: Check if any service usage exceeded the free tier limits.

Check detailed billing: Identify which services are generating charges.

Identify non-free tier services: Look for common culprits like EC2, S3, and data transfer.

Contact AWS support: Open a billing support case to clarify and resolve the issue.

Set up billing alerts: Monitor future usage and receive alerts before exceeding free tier limits.

  • Review AWS Free Tier Usage: Double-check what services you used. AWS Free Tier offers a limited set of resources for free for new accounts. Ensure you stayed within those limits:

  • Free Tier Details: https://aws.amazon.com/free/

  • Cost Explorer: This is a more advanced tool for detailed cost analysis. You can filter by date range, service, and other criteria.

Review CloudTrail Logs: If you suspect unauthorized activity, CloudTrail logs track AWS API calls made for your account. This can help identify suspicious usage.

Hello,

It sounds like you've incurred charges beyond the AWS Free Tier limits. AWS Free Tier provides limited usage for free, but exceeding these limits results in charges. The $12 charge you see is likely real and will be billed. To understand your usage and charges, you can check your AWS Billing and Cost Management Dashboard.

For more detailed information, refer to AWS Free Tier terms and conditions here: AWS Free Tier. https://aws.amazon.com/free/?all-free-tier.sort-by=item.additionalFields.SortRank&all-free-tier.sort-order=asc&awsf.Free%20Tier%20Types=*all&awsf.Free%20Tier%20Categories=*all

To avoid further charges, you can set up billing alerts and review your Free Tier usage:

Go to the Billing and Cost Management Dashboard. Check the Free Tier usage section to see if you’ve exceeded the free limits.

If you believe the charges are a mistake, contact AWS Support for clarification. https://aws.amazon.com/contact-us/
