Until now, we have been using the CPU for our renderings. Now we want to start using the GPU. So far, we have been using Debian-based AMI. I tried to install the Nvidia drivers by following many manuals, but all the time when I invoke the nvidia-smi command I get an error: "NVIDIA-SMI has failed because it couldn't communicate with the NVIDIA driver."
So I would like to know:
- is it theoretically possible to install NVIDIA drivers on each AMI and use the GPU, or do I have to use a specific AMI
- if I have to use a specific AMI, which one should it be
- I have found your article: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/UserGuide/install-nvidia-driver.html#nvidia-GRID-driver
Unfortunately, I can not understand which type of drivers I should choose for our needs: tesla drivers, grid drivers, gaming drivers
We don't need any graphical environment. Just pure console.
