Connectivity options from off-network to VPC

Question

What secure options to connect from off the cloud to a VPC, or specifically a MSK Kafka cluster, as a producer?

I'm aware there's PrivateLink, VPC peering, and Transit Gateway between VPCs, but I'm not so sure of the options if someone wants to connect off the network.

Off the network means from outside of AWS? There are Client VPN for user to remote into AWS VPCs, Direct Connect or Site-to-Site VPN that connects your onprem datacenter and AWS.
