CloudFormation optimistic stabilization

I read the announcement on speeding up CloudFormation deployments with the new optimistic stabilisation strategy.

I checked some stacks this morning, assuming I would be able to see the new strategy at work, but I was disappointed to not see anything as described in the blog post.

Does anybody know when this feature will be rolled out?

The optimistic stabilization strategy for CloudFormation deployments was announced recently but may not yet be available for all AWS accounts and regions. Here are a few key points:

  • New CloudFormation features are often rolled out gradually after announcement to monitor performance and address any issues.
  • You can check the AWS CloudFormation documentation or release notes for the latest updates on availability.
  • As this is a significant change to improve deployment speeds, AWS may be taking a staged approach to roll out the new strategy more widely after initial monitoring.
  • If the feature is not yet available for your account and region, deployments will still use the traditional linear stabilization approach.

    Thanks for the detailed response, I've just seen the CloudFormation release notes so I expect to see it in a few days. The blog post didn't make it clear if the feature was rolling out or something that was "coming soon", hence my confusion.
