Please note that storage costs associated with the objects within the bucket are prorated based on the time they existed during the billing cycle. Therefore, even if you deleted the bucket itself, you may still incur S3 charges in that billing cycle for the data stored in the bucket prior to its deletion. Also, please confirm that you have deleted the bucket, not just the objects in them. If you have deleted the objects but not the bucket itself, and if versioning was enabled on your bucket, previous versions of objects may still exist and contribute to the storage costs. You can check the bucket to see if any versions are present and, if necessary, delete them. To see a list of the versions of the objects in the bucket in the AWS console, choose the 'Show Versions' switch in the objects tab in the bucket. You can utilize S3 Storage Lens which is a tool that helps you analyze your S3 storage. Storage Lens includes a default dashboard which you can find in the S3 console. The dashboard shows you the current number of active buckets and the total storage being used. Please make sure that these numbers are 0. To gain a better understanding of the charges you are experiencing, I recommend checking the AWS Cost Explorer. It provides a detailed breakdown of your billing charges, allowing you to identify which services are contributing to the costs.

Please note that if you don't terminate your resources (like EC2 and RDS instances, EBS Volumes, S3 data etc.) , you will continue to generate costs during the 90 day post-closure period. Also you are billed for any usage that has accrued up until the time you closed your account. You'll be charged for that usage at the beginning of the next month.
