When does the AWS Free Tier start on my account and when does it expire?

Resolution

Important: Your AWS Free Tier benefits begin on the date that you activated your account, not on the date that you created the account.

When you create an account and enter your account and contact information, you're not activating the account. To activate the account, you must take the following actions:

• Add a valid payment method.
• Verify your phone number.
• Choose an AWS Support Plan.

The AWS Free Tier runs for 12 months after you activate your account.
