I want to use a different default payment method to pay my AWS charges.
Resolution
When you create an AWS account, your default payment method is the first credit card that you entered. You can add additional cards for future payments or, if you're eligible, set up direct debit through ACH or SEPA.
Follow the steps below to add a new payment method:
1. (Optional) If you don't have a payment method for your AWS account, then see How do I add a new payment method to my AWS account?
2. Sign in to the Billing and Cost Management console.
3. In the navigation pane, choose Payment preferences.
4. Next to your preferred default payment method, choose Make default.
After you update your default payment method, new AWS bills are automatically charged to that payment method for future billing
Your seller of record information might impact the payment methods available for your account.
If you change your default payment method at the end of an AWS billing cycle, then you might incur charges on the original payment method. If you have questions about your monthly AWS bill and payment methods, then create an AWS Support case. Then, select Account and Billing Support.
To remove an old payment method, see Remove a payment method.
Note: You can't remove a default payment method until you add a new payment method or choose another default payment method.
