I enabled AWS IAM Identity Center (successor to AWS Single Sign-On)—how do I use the AWS access portal?

Resolution

IAM Identity Center users can access AWS accounts and cloud applications using the AWS access portal. Follow these guidelines for accessing, configuring, and managing the AWS access portal for the IAM Identity Center.

Important: If you haven't already done so, follow the instructions to assign user access to cloud applications in IAM Identity Center and Add and configure a cloud application.

Follow these instructions to sign in to the AWS access portal:

  1. Open the IAM Identity Center console, choose Dashboard, and then choose the link in AWS access portal URL.
  2. Follow the instructions to sign in to the AWS access portal. Note: IAM Identity Center users access the AWS access portal using the user credentials for the directory configured in the IAM Identity Center.
  3. To access cloud applications or AWS accounts of the AWS Organizations from the AWS access portal, follow the instructions for using the AWS access portal. Tip: If you can't find your cloud application or AWS account, enter the application name or AWS account you're looking for into the search box and press Enter.
  4. To sign out of the AWS access portal, see Signing out of the AWS access portal.

Note: By default, the IAM Identity Center permission credential session duration is one hour. To change the credential duration, follow the instructions to set session duration.
