Querying remote account CloudWatch logs using athena

Question

Hey, i want to us athena to query cloud watch logs from other account(not my account).
When i set up athena data source and choose CloudWatch Logs, i don't see any option to control the account(and region) - it automatically connects to my cloudwatch in the current region.

I want to know if there is an option to control the properties of the cloudwatch logs(from which account and region) and by that to be able to query logs from other account in my account.

Hi,

I would suggest you to read https://dev.to/markymarkus/using-athena-to-query-multi-account-cloudwatch-logs-54j and use the Cloudformation templates that they deliver to obtain a working solution.

If you don't reuse their CFN templates, reading them will at least give you all details about the setup that you need to make to get this cross-account access to work.
