Amazon IVS is currently supported in the US East (N. Virginia), US West (Oregon), and Europe (Ireland) regions. Therefore, you would not be able to use Amazon IVS in Europe (London) at this time.
To see which AWS services are supported in a particular region, please see here:

Hi Bill. That's kind of you to answer thanks. That leads me to two more questions. Firstly, any idea when this will be available and second, I can't use my buckets in London (where my entire application is built) to record the streams - is there a way to copy the recordings from bucket to bucket across the regions?
Hi. I do not have a timeline for when the Europe (London) region will be supported. The documentation covering the layout of the files when recording to S3 can be found here:
https://docs.aws.amazon.com/ivs/latest/userguide/record-to-s3.html
You could copy the contents to another region if you choose. This could be done in a variety of ways such as using the AWS CLI, SDKs, or S3 Cross-Region Replication. See links here:
https://aws.amazon.com/cli/ https://aws.amazon.com/tools/ https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonS3/latest/userguide/replication.html#crr-scenario
You could also leave the recordings in the region they are recorded to and use an Amazon CloudFront distribution to deliver them to your users. Amazon CloudFront is a content delivery network that is designed to deliver content to your users no matter where they are located. More information about how to use CloudFront for playback can be found at the bottom of the following page:
