naming instance during the instance creation using user data

i understand that you are trying to figure out if it is possible to assign a name to a new instance during creation using user data script. Please correct me if i misunderstood you.

Unfortunately it is not possible to assign a new instance a name via user data script, however you can add tags to the instance using user data. Tags are metadata that can be used to categorize your AWS resources in different ways.
