What is a practical upper limit on the number of Pinpoint projects supported for a given account?

The limit on Pinpoint projects is not available via an API and is described in the documentation as a hard limit of 100. Practically speaking, it seems that further increases need to be requested directly from AWS support. I'm looking to get examples in the wild of organizations currently using a large number of projects in a given account and region. I know that hundreds is possible, but is anyone using pinpoint with thousands or tens of thousands of projects in the same account/region? I know there are separate quotas to consider, but assuming the desired use case doesn't violate any other quotas, what's the practical number-of-project limit?
