Use Aurora Postgresql as Datamart for Redshift

Question

A customer is using Redshift in eu-west-3 and looking to use Aurora Postgresql as a DataMart downstream.

They asked me if Aurora works well for such use cases.

Do any of you have any experience or warning for such OLAP uses cases?

This can work well if the Aurora database has aggregated data that is optimized for specific query patterns and high concurrency. See the "Low Latency Hybrid Warehousing" section under Architectures for Scaling at https://github.com/aws-samples/aws-dbs-refarch-edw.

Before going down this path, it is important to evaluate why they feel a separate datamart is needed to make sure we propose the right solution.
