Which Resources Continue To Incur Fees After Account Suspend/Close?

0

According to the official AWS Organizations documentation from [1]:

**From the time you close the account until 90 days expire:**

* Closed accounts are visible in your organization with the SUSPENDED state.
* Some active resources that are not terminated prior to account closure can continue to incur fees if you decide to reopen the account within 90 days. For more information, see "How do I terminate active resources I no longer need on my AWS account?" [2] in the Knowledge Center.
* You will be able to log in to view past bills and access AWS Support.

Which resources types are included in the "some active resources" category?

As mentioned in the AWS documentation for Closing an account - during the post-closure period the billing for On-Demand charges stops. However, you're billed for any usage that has accrued up until the time you closed your account. In addition, if you purchased any subscriptions with ongoing payment obligations, you might continue to be charged for them after your account is closed. So always terminate everything, delete resources, take backups before you close the account. ref: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/accounts/latest/reference/manage-acct-closing.html?sc_channel=el&sc_campaign=costwave&sc_content=cloud-account-fundamentals&sc_geo=mult&sc_country=mult&sc_outcome=acq
