AWS does not offer a direct replacement for SAP BW or SAP BW/4HANA

AWS hosts SAP Data Warehouse Cloud (https://www.sap.com/products/data-warehouse-cloud.html) on SAP’s Business Technology Platform (BTP) which is SAP’s strategic next step for customers migrating off of SAP BW or BW/4HANA on premises versions.

Some AWS customers choose to move to a native AWS Data Lake to combine SAP and non-SAP data and this can be achieved with several native AWS services.

SAP data (from ECC or S/4HANA or BW or BW/4HANA) can be extracted into an AWS Datalake (https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/awsforsap/building-data-lakes-with-sap-on-aws/) and then using AWS Data and Analytics services to setup the logic and metadata linkages between datasets. Appflow for SAP (https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/awsforsap/category/application-integration/amazon-appflow/)and AWS Glue (https://aws.amazon.com/glue/) provide ODP based Extractors that can be used to move data from ECC or S/4HANA into AWS Redshift/Athena/S3. Data Labeling using Glue Databrew enables metadata and dataset relationships to be available in the AWS Datalake.

Further information can be found in the Extract data from SAP ERP and BW with Amazon AppFlow (https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/awsforsap/extract-data-from-sap-erp-and-bw-with-amazon-appflow/) blog.
