[bug][il-central-1][ec2-connect] endpoint URL ec2-instance-connect.il-central-1.amazonaws.com cannot be resolved

Hello,

I could not find a place to report bugs without getting support...

I tried to use the new il-central-1 region, and found that the endpoint URL is not registered with DNS.

$ aws ec2-instance-connect send-ssh-public-key --region il-central-1 --availability-zone il-central-1b --instance-id i-057d7debb55347d4f --instance-os-user ubuntu --ssh-public-key file:///home/user1/.ssh/id_rsa.pub

Could not connect to the endpoint URL: "https://ec2-instance-connect.il-central-1.amazonaws.com/"

Unlike other endpoint URLs such as ec2-instance-connect.us-east-1.amazonaws.com, the ec2-instance-connect.il-central-1.amazonaws.com cannot be resolved.

Doesn't the ec2-connect feature has full coverage? What is the right channel to report this to AWS?

Instance Connect isn't currently available in il-central-1.

Only in these regions https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/UserGuide/ec2-instance-connect-prerequisites.html#eic-prereqs-regions

    Thank you! this is sad... a completely new region with partial features... we use it to securly set the SSH keys.

    It's the way of things, every region starts off rather threadbare and slowly more features are added - look at what's available in Melbourne (2023) compared with Sydney (2012).

    If features are optional in region aws could have provided better message than trying to access unregistered name (and intetionally unavailable service).

    Next time I will know what to look for. Is there somewhere a matrix of service availability that outlines what service is available in what region or should I seek each in different place?

    It doesn't have the granularity to show which specific features of each service (e.g. Instance Connect within EC2).
