Hello,

For sending mail, please review the following knowledge base article.

This can be caused by:

  • Template Rendering Failures.

  • Account being in the Amazon SES sandbox. (you already ruled this out)

  • Issue with the email recipient's email address.

  • Issue with the email recipient's server.

  • Your email getting labeled as spam.

  • Sending delays.

  • Ongoing issues with SES.

You can check the above link for the reasons and resolutions to the above. As for receiving mail please review the following knowledge base article in addition to the setup docs here.

While you have verified your domain name, be sure to publish the necessary MX record and give permission to SES for email receiving per instructions from the above docs.

Finally you can also determine if your account is under review per the following knowledge base article and take steps to lift restrictions.

If you have a verified domain identity then you do not need to verify email address identities within the domain. Furthermore, you should not verify email address identities within a verified domain identity because: a) the more specific email address identity supersedes the domain identity when you send messages, and b) email address identities cannot be authenticated which can lead to deliverability issues. Once your domain identity is verified, you can send as any email address within the domain.

To test sending email using the AWS console, use the "Send test email" button that is available within the domain identity configuration, then choose "Custom" as the scenario.
