Is it possible to keep the stage name in the path when fronting API Gateway with a custom domain name?

When fronting API GW with a custom domain name, the stage name is removed from the url path and the domain name points directly to the stage. Is there a way to maintain the stage name in the url path?

Of course. Custom domain name supports multi-level base path mapping. You can just create a custom domain mapping that includes the stage name. E.g.. You can map users/prod to API: Users, stage: prod.
