Performance Insights for my RDS are empty.

Explanation: I have RDS servers with Performance Insights enabled. However, one of them is not showing any data. I tried modifying the instance by disabling Performance Insights, then re-enabling it to correct the problem. This did not help. Can anyone recommend a solution or explain why it is not logging?

Do you have IAM permissions to the KMS key PI are encrypted with to decrypt the data?

  • we still have key from the RDS instance in the KMS and it has not been modified since the server has been created how do i check to make sure that it does have access to decrypt the data. PS. All other RDS are using this same key

  • The key for RDS is different to performance insights. You need to check KMS key policy and IAM policies to ensure you have decrypt access. This may not be your issue but one area to look at.

  • Other than that try stopping and starting your Rds
