Unable to run Athena query with AmazonAthenaPreviewFunctionality workgroup

I created the AmazonAthenaPreviewFunctionality workgroup to execute my queries via Athena. I used this functionality before and I had no issues. Now I'm getting a The given Workgroup name is a reserved Athena Workgroup Name. Please submit your query using a different Workgroup. (Service: AmazonAthena; Status Code: 400; Error Code: InvalidRequestException; Request ID: xxx error.

The workgroup is setup and enabled. The same query succeeds when running using the primary workgroup.

The preview functionality is not available in all regions. As stated in the Athena FAQs:

Preview functionality is available only in us-east-1, us-west-2, ap-south-1, eu-west-1 regions. If you use Athena in any other region and submit queries using Workgroup: AmazonAthenaPreviewFunctionality, your query will fail.

Hence, please ensure that you have selected one of the supported regions before running queries using the AmazonAthenaPreviewFunctionality.
