Why does Aurora storage sizing use Tebibyte vs Terabyte?

Question

A customer wants to know why Aurora Storage uses Tebibyte vs Terabyte? example this url https://aws.amazon.com/about-aws/whats-new/2020/10/amazon-aurora-enables-dynamic-resizing-database-storage-space/   says The storage space already automatically increases up to a maximum size of 128 **tebibytes (TiB)** vs 128 Terabytes?

This is a common standard when it comes to defining units of storage (not just in AWS).
