USB remotization on Linux virtual session?

0

Hi,
I have a g3 instance running CentOS 7 with several users running virtual DCV sessions. It works great!! Some of my users want to use a 3Dconnexion SpaceMouse.

I've added the users' exact filter strings to the allow list in usb-devices.conf. The users can now see their devices listed in their DCV client Settings menu, and they are able to move the slider to activate the device in their session.

CentOS does not appear to recognize a new USB device (nothing listed on lsusb). Attempting to launch the 3Dconnexion driver produces an error indicating no device found.

Is USB remotization supported virtual sessions? What am I misssing?

thanks.

%owner% allow builtin

I add the string above to /etc/dcv/default.perm and now it's working. I had thought the default permissions would have been same?

But alas, I now find that our target applications are not compiled with support for 3D mouse :( I tried both drivers (3Dconnexion proprietary and spacenavd open source). In both cases, the cube demos worked great - remotization of the 3Dconnexion device from windows client to linux server is possible. nice.
