Is total Vibration the sum of the three axis?

Yes, the total vibration (Vrms) is the vector sum of all three axes between (10-1000Hz), i.e.:

total_vibration = sqrt(x^2 + y^2 + z^2)

The data export and Monitron app will also give you insight into each x, y and z axis as well as the maximum of the three for each measurement data point.

  • We found that the total vibration is the root of the sum of the squares of all three axis.
