Can't access MySQL RDS

Question

I can connect to my MySQL RDS with the same user name and password for my windows server, but can't access it from my Amazon Linux 2023.

I ran "show processlist" on MySQL workbench, it showing the user from Amazon Linux 2023 "unauthenticated user" even I entered the same user name, password and host.

When a user connects to MySQL but has not yet sent their credentials, MySQL does not know the actual user's name yet. Until the user sends its login credentials, MySQL returns "unauthenticated user" in the running process's user column

It would be interesting if you tried again with and without TLS from the client in case it’s this. This could be the cause.

What error message do you get when trying to connect?
