Pourquoi mon volume EBS ne parvient-il pas à s’associer à mon instance EC2 pour la première fois ?

Certains types d'instances Amazon EC2 nécessitent Scalable Reliable Datagram (SRD) pour vous permettre de bénéficier des performances élevées d'Amazon EBS. Les types d’instances compatibles SRD sont les suivants :

• C6a
• C6in
• C7g
• Inf2
• M6a
• M6in
• M6idn
• M7g
• R5b
• R6a
• R6in
• R6idn
• R7g
• Trn1
• Trn1n
• X2idn
• X2iedn

SRD est un protocole de transport réseau fiable, à hautes performances et à faible latence, spécialement conçu pour AWS.

Résolution

Lorsque vous associez un volume Amazon EBS existant à un type d'instance qui nécessite SRD pour la première fois, Amazon EBS modifie le volume. Amazon EBS le déplace vers une infrastructure compatible SRD. Il ne peut y avoir qu'une seule opération de modification à la fois sur le même volume. Si votre volume fait l’objet d’une modification lors d'une tentative de connexion, la tentative de déplacement du volume vers l'infrastructure compatible SRD échoue.

Lorsqu'un volume EBS existant ne parvient pas à s’associer à l'instance compatible SRD, une notification est envoyée au Personal Health Dashboard (PHD) de votre compte. Cette notification fournit des détails sur l'activité opérationnelle requise pour déplacer le volume EBS vers l'infrastructure compatible SRD.

Remarque : R5b.8xlarge est utilisé dans l'exemple suivant.

Si vous avez initié la modification existante, la notification suivante s'affiche :

r5b.8xlarge is an SRD capable instance. In order to give you the benefit of the performance of an r5b.8xlarge
instance, we have to move your volume to SRD capable
infrastructure via the modifyVolume process. We are unable
to perform the modification operation at this time because
your volume is already undergoing modification. You can track
the progress of the current modification via the
describe-volume-modifications API. Once the modification is
completed you can attach the volume to the instance r5b.8xlarge.
If you urgently need to access data from this volume, please
attach it to any instance family other than C6a, C6in, C7g, Inf2, M6a,
M6in, M6idn, M7g, R5b, R6a, R6in, R6idn, R7g, Trn1, Trn1n, X2idn, and X2iedn.

Si Amazon EBS a initié la modification existante, la notification suivante s'affiche :

r5b.8xlarge is an SRD capable instance. In order to give you the benefit of the performance of an r5b.8xlarge instance, we have
to move your volume to SRD capable infrastructure via the modifyVolume
process. We are unable to perform the modification operation at this
time because of an operational activity being performed by EBS on the
server hosting your volume. Your volume is in a healthy and fully
redundant state. We will send an update as soon as the operational
activity is complete. You can then attach the volume to the instance
r5b.8xlarge. This operational activity may last for up to 48 hrs.
If you urgently need to access data from this volume, please attach
it to any instance family other than C6a, C6in, C7g, Inf2, M6a, M6in,
M6idn, M7g, R5b, R6a, R6in, R6idn, R7g, Trn1, Trn1n, X2idn, and X2iedn.

L'activité opérationnelle de modification peut durer jusqu'à 48 heures. Vous pouvez attendre que la modification initiale du volume soit terminée, puis associer à nouveau le volume EBS à l'instance compatible SRD.

Si vous devez accéder aux données de votre volume EBS, associez le volume à un type d'instance autre que ceux listés dans la notification PHD. Une fois la modification terminée, associez le volume EBS à votre instance R5b.
