Based on your requirements of sending 50,000 emails per day for 5 working days per week, you would be sending approximately 1,000,000 emails per month (50,000 × 5 days × 4 weeks).
Amazon SES pricing includes charges for:
- Outgoing messages: $0.10 per 1,000 emails
- Outgoing mail data: $0.12 per gigabyte of data in attachments
For 1,000,000 emails per month:
- Outgoing message cost: (1,000,000 - 3,000 free tier messages) × $0.0001 = $99.70
- Outgoing mail data: Assuming each email is approximately 32KB in size (plain text with a little HTML), the data cost would be: (0.000032GB × 1,000,000) × $0.12 = $3.84
Total estimated monthly cost: $103.54
This estimate assumes you're not using additional features like dedicated IP addresses and that your application is not hosted on Amazon EC2. If you're eligible for the AWS free tier, you'll receive 3,000 free messages per month, which is already factored into the calculation above.
Note that if you need additional features like Virtual Deliverability Manager, dedicated IPs, or other add-ons, there would be additional costs.
