Running services without a HTTP interface on AWS Lightsail Containers

0

Hello!

I wish to run some "background workers" on AWS Lightsail Containers. The container boots, connects to a work queue system (such as AWS SQS or RabbitMQ) and continues running as it performs work from the queue. At no point does it start a HTTP interface, and due to limitations of the programming language and libraries used I am unable to add one.

Is AWS Lightsail Containers suitable for this workload? It looks like a great service, but I could not determine if the HTTP interface was always required.

Thanks,
Louis

Are you referring to the instance itself or the Lightsail "dashboard/admin" area? For the instance, no, there is no http interface requirement. For the Lightsail service you do have to use the dashboard to get things setup, but once everything is setup and you can ssh into your instance, you shouldn't need the dashboard again.

Or alternatively, you could also use the Lightsail CLI
