Optimal AWS native service to migrate HANA to?

0

What is the best AWS native service (besides lift/shift to EC2) that usually maps to the HANA db. And any concerns or areas to look out for in the movement?

  • As SAP HANA is an in memory database that supports SAP implementations, what problem are you trying to solve by migrating the HANA portion of SAP?

  • Could you elaborate the use case? How is Hana used, as DB for SAP components or implementing an analytical schema not directly related to a SAP component? Do the customer want to migrate from a BW implementation to an open format Data Warehouse?

Could you provide more details about the usecase to determine if and how other AWS services can support the requirements. For SAP migration please check following links : https://docs.aws.amazon.com/sap/latest/sap-hana/migrating-hana-hana-to-aws.html https://docs.aws.amazon.com/sap/latest/sap-hana/migrating-hana-hana-to-aws.html

There are many AWS services that provide a Hybrid Data lake allowing customers to find their optimal point between HANA data and AWS Data sources (S3, Redshift...) Some of my favorites are "Extracting data from SAP HANA using AWS Glue and JDBC" & "Building data lakes with SAP on AWS" which evolved since their 2019 release. Starting last August , we can also use Amazon Appflow for Extracting data from SAP applications to AWS services with SAP Odata so.... where do you wanna SAP today?
