Fortigate instance reboots every few minutes

We have an AWS fortigate instance, i-05d1000bb9f9bbde6, that keeps rebooting over and over again every few minutes.

The logs of the fortigate say that a reboot was initiated by admin at the console.

The "Action" --> "Instance Settings" --> "Get system log" shows the following text repeated over and over again.

System is starting...
Serial number is FGVM02TM20000350

AWS get instance id failed.

The system is going down NOW !!

Please stand by while rebooting the system.

Restarting system.

Anybody have any idea whats going on???
