AWS Worskpace issue

0

Unable to authenticate. This device is not authorized to access the WorkSpace. Please contact your administrator for assistance, we are pushing via jamf, users are getting this error message, from the current update we are getting this ,may i know why its happening

Also what would be the possible ways that we can block auto updates from amazon itself

"device not authorized" error happens because your AWS WorkSpaces directory restricts access by IP, device type, or requires certificates that may be missing. Check and update directory’s access controls and trusted device settings to allow users’ devices.

To block automatic AWS WorkSpaces client updates on Windows, deploy this registry key via Jamf: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Amazon\Amazon WorkSpaces Client\clientUpgradeDisabled = 1

This disables client auto-updates.

This error is likely due to a recent AWS WorkSpaces client update that enforces stricter device trust or client version requirements. If you're pushing the client via Jamf, ensure the version aligns with AWS’s requirements and that MDM profiles are applying correctly.

You can’t directly block AWS client auto-updates, but you can manage them by deploying a specific version via Jamf and blocking the update mechanism. Also, verify your Access Control settings in the AWS WorkSpaces console to ensure “Trusted Devices” or version restrictions aren’t causing the issue.
