Change of storage S3

Question

Hello,
I've made a storage change from an S3 Standard bucket to S3 Glacier Flexible Retrieval and I get a message that it completed successfully but if I go back into the bucket - Actions - Edit Storage Class, it's still marked S3 Standard.
This is normal? How can I know if the bucket storage has really been changed?

Hi there,

I replicated this, and noticed that you can see the class of your objects on the object level, and not at the file level.

For example, in the below image, you can see the "Screenshot 2023-01-23 at 16.52.17.png" is an object, and it's storage class can be seen. Whereas, the other two items are folders, hence, no storage class applies.

With that being said, you can configure lifecycle rules to automatically transition objects into the desired Storage Classes as per: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonS3/latest/userguide/lifecycle-transition-general-considerations.html
