Hi
- When a Lightsail instance experiences high CPU usage even when not in use, it indicates that there might be some underlying issue causing the CPU to spike. Monitor Resource Usage
- Use Lightsail Monitoring Tools: Check the built-in monitoring tools in the Lightsail console to get an overview of the CPU, memory, and disk usage over time.
- Install Monitoring Tools: Consider installing tools like htop, atop, or glances on your instance to get a more detailed view of the processes and resource usage. System Logs: Check the system logs for any unusual activity or errors. Logs are usually located in /var/log **sudo tail -f /var/log/syslog sudo tail -f /var/log/auth.log **

Hi there,
Could you elaborate on what you mean by going down? I assume in this case, you are referring to the instance with high CPU usage. In what way is it going down? Is it unreachable via SSH and/or IP?
For troubleshooting CPU spikes, please take a look at this guide: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/en_us/lightsail/latest/userguide/troubleshooting-high-cpu-utilization.html
Hope this helps.
