AE1 does not have Equinix Fabric so you will need to leverage another Direct Connect (DX) Partner. Ideally the Partner has a presence in AE1 to simplify the cross-connect.

You might want to consider terminating in Melbourne (NEXTDC M1) with a view to leveraging the new region when it comes online (ADL-MEL ~10ms, ADL-SYD ~20ms). ADL-MEL DX then on to SYD via AWS backbone may have slightly higher latency which is something to consider, but it may be cheaper as it's a physically shorter path for the carrier. Some Partners offer elastic bandwidth (manual or programatic) if you have variable throughput requirements which is another way to manage cost.
