I want to migrate my Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) Windows instance to latest generation instance type.

Prerequisites
Before you migrate your Amazon EC2 instance, complete the following steps:
- Make sure that you have a backup of your instance. Either create a snapshot or create a Windows AMI of your instance.
- Make sure that you migrate your instance during a maintenance window. Instance migration requires stopping and starting of an instance.
- Review other prerequisites and considerations for compatible instance types.
