Unable to download apps with command "sudo apt install finger". I have checked security rules, access control lists. I can connect to the instance with ssh, however I cannot download. I tried command "wget www.google.com" and that failed as well. I tried rebooting and the same thing happens. The following error is received.

  • If your instance in a private VPC subnet, do you have a NAT Gateway or NAT instance? If your instance is in a public VPC subnet, does it have a public IP address, and does the VPC have an Internet Gateway attached?

  • This has been resolved. The instance was restricted by the Amazon Abuse Team.

Could it be an OS firewall? Try launching an instance with the standard AMI in the same subnet and see if the problem exists on the new instance.
