Option 2 is advisable. It is free of cost, because it's an alias for a chargeable AWS resource that is the ALB, and it performs better, because the client will get the IP addresses directly, rather than having to perform a second query to resolve the name the CNAME points to into an IP address.
The alias option also doesn't expose the native DNS name of the load balancer to the outside world, which the CNAME would do.
