Migrate EC2 from SQL Server Express to Licensed Ver

Hi! I have a Windows EC2 Server that runs an application that relies on SQL Server. The application installer installs SQL Server Express as part of the installation. I am hoping to upgrade it in place to SQL Server Web, but don't really want to just spin up a new server as the application won't run if I migrate to another server. I'll have to get with the application vendor to "re-host" to the new EC2. While this is possible, it's not desireable. Any input is most appreciated. Thanks!
