ECS Fargate service stops scaling at 100 tasks - why?

0

Hi everyone,

I have an ECS service using Fargate as a launch platform set at 500 desired replica tasks. I have also checked and confirmed that my Fargate service quota is at the initial default value of 500 tasks and have not found any other relevant quotas which could be limiting my deployment.

In spite of the described situation, my service stops scaling up at 100 tasks. Could someone please shed light on the situation for my frustrated self?
Thank you very much!

The ECS Service Scheduler generates events when starting and stopping tasks. What messages are you getting from the service scheduler when it stops launching additional tasks?

In case someone happens to stumble upon this thread - Service Quotas we see in the console are not always what we get, there are also other considerations taken into account - how old is your account, how much usage you have raked up until now. However, even if they are mentioned somewhere in the convoluted documentation, I have not seen them (clearly defined).
If you end up in a situation where things do not make sense, try contacting support.
If you are desperate(in a hurry), just pay up for (proper?) support.
I guess those are the ways of Amazon/AWS.
